Bragg Building and Design Ltd – Invercargill, South Island Bragg Building and Design Ltd is seeking an experienced and Qualified Carpenter to join our team in Invercargill. This is a full-time position based in the Southland region, offering the opportunity to work on diverse building projects ranging from residential to commercial developments. As a key member of our building trades team, you will play an essential role in delivering high-quality carpentry work that meets our clients' expectations and maintains our reputation for excellence in the construction industry. Your expertise will directly contribute to the successful completion of projects and the growth of our business in the Central Southland area. Key responsibilities Undertaking a full range of carpentry tasks including framing, joinery, fit-out work, and finishing on residential, steel structures and commercial building projects Reading and interpreting architectural plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate implementation of designs Measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling timber and other materials to exact specifications Installing doors, windows, stairs, cabinetry, and other timber components with precision and attention to detail Ensuring all work complies with relevant building codes, standards, and health and safety regulations Working collaboratively with other tradespeople, site supervisors, and project teams to maintain project timelines Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order and adhering to site safety protocols Problem-solving and adapting to site conditions whilst maintaining quality standards Contributing to a positive and professional work environment on site What we're looking for A current New Zealand carpentry qualification or equivalent recognised trade qualification Proven experience working as a qualified carpenter in the building industry, with a demonstrated portfolio of completed projects Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and health and safety requirements relevant to New Zealand construction Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications Excellent practical skills in measuring, cutting, fitting, and finishing timber work Experience with both hand and power tools, and familiarity with modern carpentry techniques Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship Valid New Zealand driver's licence and reliable transport A positive attitude towards health and safety practices on site Preferred: Experience in residential construction, renovation projects, or commercial fit-out work What we offer Bragg Building and Design Ltd is committed to supporting the professional development and wellbeing of our team members.
