Gerry's Bakery Ltd – Harewood, South Island Location: Christchurch Airport, Christchurch Sites: 7 Bolt Place Reports To: Team Leader Process Worker – Pastry Production We are looking for reliable and motivated Process Workers to join our pastry production team. In this hands-on role, you will assist with the preparation and handling of high-quality pastry products while ensuring food safety, hygiene, and operational standards are maintained at all times. This is a fast-paced environment suited to someone who enjoys teamwork, takes pride in their work, and can work efficiently to meet production deadlines. Key Responsibilities Perform basic food preparation tasks at the beginning of each shift Prepare pies, sausage rolls, and other items according to production schedules on the production line Maintain the cleanliness of utensils, equipment, and food preparation areas Ensure products are stored correctly to meet food safety standards Follow all food safety guidelines and wear appropriate protective clothing Monitor stock levels and advise the Team Leader of shortages Unload and organise food supplies as required Minimise wastage and accurately record any waste Carry out Quality Assurance checks Report hazards, incidents, or operational issues promptly Follow Health & Safety, Food Safety, and operational compliance procedures Complete end-of-shift cleaning and duties About You To be successful in this role, you will have: A strong work ethic and attention to detail Good communication and teamwork skills The ability to work in a fast-paced production environment Strong time management and organisational skills A high standard of hygiene and personal presentation Flexibility and adaptability to meet business needs Physical fitness to handle the demands of the role Basic numeracy and literacy skills Preferred Qualifications Current Food Safety Certificate (optional) What We Offer Supportive team environment Full training provided Opportunity to work in a dynamic pastry operation Stable and ongoing employment opportunities If you are dependable, safety-focused, and ready to be part of a hardworking team, we would love to hear from you. #J-18808-Ljbffr
