The Role We're on the hunt for a reliable, customer-focused Retail Assistant to join our Rotorua crew on a part-time, fixed-term basis, covering parental leave until the 30th of July 2027. You’ll be part of a fun, fast-paced team, delivering awesome service and helping our customers find exactly what they need. What You'll Be Doing Giving our customers top notch customer service Recommending, locating, and helping customers find exactly the right gear for their needs Processing sales and handling transactions accurately at the point-of-sale Maintaining store presentation to a high standard Supporting the team to hit (and smash!) daily targets Assisting with store opening/closing tasks as required What We're Looking For Previous retail or customer service experience Confidence operating a point-of-sale system, or willingness to learn A genuine passion for surf and/or skate culture, or an eagerness to learn Outstanding communication skills - warm, clear and professional with both customers and your team High attention to detail Strong time management - you're punctual, reliable, and self-motivated A positive attitude and the ability to keep your cool during busy periods Key Performance Expectations Consistently meeting and exceeding daily, weekly and monthly sales targets Zero customer complaints - every customer leaves happy and wants to come back Actively generating positive customer feedback Availability Required Fridays: 10:00am-4:00pm Saturdays: 9:00am-5:00pm Please note that to be considered for this position, applicants must be available for all of the hours listed above.
