We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Casual Machine Operator to join our Tyre Recycling team and help us recycle tyres efficiently and responsibly. Smart Environmental Ltd works on behalf of local councils, businesses, and communities, providing rubbish and recycling collection services throughout New Zealand. Acquired by Blue Planet, and with a large fleet of collection vehicles and line haul operations, our mission is to divert waste from landfill and create a more sustainable future. Supportive team environment. Training and ongoing support to help you succeed in the role. Who Are You? Proven experience operating heavy machinery. Physically fit, reliable, and safety-focused. Excavator Licence required. Telehandler Licence advantageous. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to safety and environmental standards. Flexibility to work weekends and additional hours when required. Your Role Operate heavy machinery within the Tyre Recycling Department. Support the shredding, sorting, and baling of tyres for recycling. Load and unload materials safely and efficiently. Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance. Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to production targets. Follow all safety, operational, and environmental procedures.
