Food & Beverage Attendants – Part Time and Casual Roles The Canterbury Club Inc – Christchurch, South Island Established in 1872, The Canterbury Club is a landmark of Christchurch’s inner-city history. Situated along the Avon River, we provide a sophisticated sanctuary for our co‑ed membership. With a traditional billiards room, health club, refined dining spaces, and function rooms, we pride ourselves on a service standard that honours our heritage while embracing modern hospitality excellence. We offer a rare “hospo” lifestyle as the Club is open Monday‑Friday for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and private meetings & functions. We open occasionally on the weekends for private functions, but the Club is closed on all public holidays (except Anzac Day), and for nearly a full month over the summer holidays. The Role: We are seeking part‑time and casual Food & Beverage Attendants to join our team. These flexible roles are hands‑on and service‑focused, working across our restaurant, bar, and function spaces to deliver a polished and welcoming experience. You’ll be part of a small, professional team delivering consistent, high‑quality service—whether it’s a quiet weekday dinner for members or a private function. Shifts are primarily Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays available for private functions. We can offer flexible scheduling for the right candidates, including part‑time or casual arrangements. Roles are available to start immediately and we will remove this job ad once the position(s) are filled. What You’ll Do Deliver attentive, professional table and bar service across weekday shifts and occasional private functions Prepare and maintain dining areas to a high standard before, during, and after service Build rapport with members and provide confident menu and beverage recommendations Support smooth service across restaurant, bar, and function environments Contribute to a positive, team-focused environment on the floor For those with an interest in wine and beverages, there will be opportunities to develop your knowledge and contribute to service standards. About You: We’re looking for people who enjoy great service, work well in a team, and take pride in the details. Successful candidates will have the following qualities: Proven experience in restaurant and function service, ideally in high‑standard or fine‑dining environments. Professional & Personable: Outgoing, approachable, and able to make members feel welcomed. Organised & Proactive: Comfortable operating across multiple spaces, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Reliable & Dependable: Able to consistently arrive on time, maintain high standards, and support the team throughout service. Team Player: Flexible and ready to assist the team as needed to ensure seamless service. Bonus (not essential): Interest or experience in wine, cocktails, or premium beverage service A desire to grow your skills in a more refined service environment If you have an outgoing personality, excellent communication skills, and quality F&B service experience, we would like to hear from you.
