Registered Nurse - Primary Health Care Kaupapa Māori Leadership Are you looking for the opportunity to be involved with community work and Kaupapa Māori leadership? RAPHS is looking for a Senior Registered Nurse to provide high quality, culturally safe primary healthcare within Koiora Clinic and in outreach settings. You will provide Kaupapa Māori leadership across clinical practice, whanau engagement, stakeholder relationships and will assist with Kaupapa Māori Hauora education. You will support the GM Koiora Māori Hauora Lead as well as support the existing nursing team with clinical priorities. The successful applicant will be a registered nurse with extensive knowledge and experience of working with Māori communities and have a genuine passion for improving health outcomes for patients and their whanau, as well as a passion for supporting clinical teams to do so. They will have an advanced understanding and appreciation of Māori health issues, Tikanga Māori, and the Rotorua Community. You need to have great communication skills, prioritisation skills and be able to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team. This would be an excellent role for a levelheaded nurse with a passion for community focused nursing who can jump back into a clinical setting as needed to make a real difference in the Rotorua community. Registered Nurse with current Annual Practicing Certificate. Experience in primary health care, general practice, Māori Health, community health or a realted clinical setting. A good understanding of Māori cultural concepts, values and practices, and how they apply within a healthcare setting and the ability to work with Whanau/Hapu/Iwi Experience in working with Māori with a proven commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi Strong clinical assessment, triage, care planning, documentation, chronic care, health education, referral, follow-up, and clinical prioritisation skills. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team and have the flexibility to respond to a readily changing environment Experience of working with patients with long-term conditions management Full, clean NZ Driver Licence. Commitment to on-going professional development/education. High levels of computer and digital literacy Current CPR certificate. Knowledge of the New Zealand health system and primary care environment. Credentialing or training relevant to immunisation, cervical screening, diabetes care, smoking cessation, health coaching, long-term condition management, or other primary care priorities is desirable.
