About the Service Rangiora Maternity is situated in alovely rural setting 30 minutes' drive from central Christchurch. It is a 10bedded Primary Maternity Unit, providing both birth and postnatal care.Thereis also an outreach obstetrics and gynaecology clinic held at the facility toensure care closer to home for wahine/women who live in North Canterbury. Theunit forms part of the Rangiora Health hub which also has outpatient clinicsfor a range of public health services and provides Meals on Wheels for thecommunity. The Rangiora Health Hub is continuing togrow in response to needs of the community. About the Role A Hospital Aide isan integral part of our team and we are looking for a someone who has excellentcommunication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to use theirinitiative. You will enjoy being busy and don't mind that the role can be attimes be physically demanding. As a Hospital Aidein a healthcare setting, you will be become well accustomed to working within afar-paced environment and prioritising your tasks continuously as your dayevolves. The Hospital Aide role has a large component of housekeeping and supportingthe midwives in their day to day duties. We currently have two positions available. The permanent 0.5FTEposition involves an 8-week rotating roster across mornings and afternoons,balanced with other Hospital Aides' rosters. On occasion there may be anightshift available, but not part of the usual roster pattern. 0.5FTE is 5shifts over the fortnight. The casual role isto cover annual leave and sick calls, so shifts maybe allocated 1-2 weeks inadvance or consulted for short notice sick calls. About You You will require thefollowing skills and experience: Excellentcustomer service skills andthe abilityto work in an inclusiveteam environment. A highattention to detail and the ability to relate to patients and theirfamilies. A good useof initiative and problem-solving skills. Excellenttime management skills and a willingness to learn.
