Laboratory Technician - (Maternity Leave cover) Independent Petroleum Laboratory – Ruakaka, North Island IPL is a critical supporting function within the broader fuel supply chain at Channel Infrastructure, NZ's largest fuel import terminal. IPL thrive on the challenging and precise work we undertake, specialising in Petrochemical Testing. While employed by IPL, you will be based at the Channel Infrastructure site in the beautiful Te Tai Tokerau (Marsden Point) and work closely with our operational and technical teams. Your opportunity as a Laboratory Technician, is exposure to large scale infrastructure operations while remaining part of a New Zealand unique independent, specialist laboratory organisation. We are IANZ accredited to ISO17025, taking pride in our Quality Management systems and our commitment to ensuring everyone goes home safely every day. This role encompasses a wide range of laboratory testing and support functions for analysing transport fuel samples. The Opportunity: You’re the Kaitiaki of upholding the standards for testing Hydrocarbon based samples and ensuring equipment is functioning through quality control checks. Playing a key role in delivering high‑quality laboratory testing and analytical services, you ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety standards, quality requirements, and established procedures. How you’ll make an impact: A strong Safety and Quality focus A great team player with significant fuels testing experience Qualifications in Chemistry or related fields eg BSc, NZCS or equivalent is preferred Experience with Labware or other recognised LIMS.
