Farm Systems Consultant - Environmental Specialist

As a recognised leader in the industry, and with a strong pipeline of work, we have opportunities available for Junior, Intermediate, or Senior consultants to join our team. About the role Based in Templeton, you will work alongside farming clients to understand where they want to take their business, support them to get there, and help them proactively innovate and adapt to maintain a sustainable, profitable, and resilient farm system. You will contribute to delivering practical, evidence-based environmental and farm systems advice, and help translate science, policy, and modelling outputs into clear actions that our farming clients can implement. Building strong relationships, understanding needs, identifying opportunities, and ensuring the service you provide is farmer-centric will be critical aspects of this role. Depending on your experience, the role may include: Supporting delivery of projects as part of a wider team (Junior) Owning end-to-end delivery, including technical analysis, project coordination, and proactive client communication (Intermediate) Providing technical leadership, advanced project management, and coaching/mentoring others (Senior) You’ll need to be willing to develop and sustain (or already have) strong capability with OverseerFM and other modelling tools, produce high-quality formal written work, and be committed to continuous learning and professional development. Your Skills and Experience You will: Have prior experience in a paid practical farming position Have completed a relevant degree in Agriculture, Science or a related field Be passionate and motivated about making a difference to New Zealand’s agricultural sector Have an understanding of nutrient modelling and farm systems software (or the drive to build capability quickly) Have excellent literacy skills, including communicating in writing to a high standard.
