Are you a caring and confident dentist looking for a rewarding locum opportunity within a friendly, community-focused practice? Dental Care Kaiapoi is seeking an experienced Locum Dentist to provide maternity cover from 13th November 2026 to November 2027 (Dates TBC), with the possibility of an extension or an ongoing position by mutual agreement. Located in the heart of Kaiapoi, approximately 20 minutes north of Christchurch, we are a modern and well-equipped family dental practice providing general, cosmetic and surgical dentistry to a loyal and growing patient base. THE POSITION 5 days per week: Established appointment book and existing patient base Excellent support from an experienced practice manager and dental assistant Broad range of general dentistry including IV sedation, IOS, Denture Technician on site, Visiting Orthodontist Modern, well-equipped clinical environment Supportive and welcoming team culture Attractive remuneration, negotiable according to experience ABOUT YOU We are looking for a dentist who: Holds current registration and an Annual Practising Certificate with the Dental Council of New Zealand Has appropriate professional indemnity insurance Is confident in providing high-quality general dentistry Communicates warmly and clearly with patients Has a gentle, ethical and patient-centred approach Works well within a close and supportive team Is comfortable treating patients of different ages and managing both routine and emergency care Experience in IV sedation, restorative dentistry, extractions, endodontics, crowns and bridges would be advantageous.
