About the role We are seeking a Cemetery Administrator and Customer Service Person to join our team in Silverdale, Auckland . This is a part time position, 24 hours per week with occasional work on weekends. This is a customer-facing role that combines administrative duties with direct customer interaction, playing a vital part in ensuring our clients receive exceptional service during important times. You will be the first point of contact for many families and will contribute significantly to their experience with our organisation. What you'll be doing Greeting and welcoming visitors to the cemetery with professionalism and compassion Providing information about cemetery services, burial options, memorialisation and facilities Processing enquiries and bookings related to cemetery services and plot purchases Maintaining accurate administrative records and documentation for cemetery operations Assisting families with payment processing and service arrangements Answering telephone and email enquiries promptly and professionally Coordinating with funeral professionals, suppliers and contractors to ensure seamless service delivery Assisting with cemetery operations and funeral ceremonies as required Assisting with charitable and promotional events Performing general administrative tasks, including but not limited to: filing, banking and data entry Attending team meetings What we're looking for Proven experience in customer service or a customer-facing role within a professional environment Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact sensitively with bereaved families Excellent administrative and organisational abilities with attention to detail Proficiency in using computer systems and office software such as Microsoft Office Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a part-time capacity A respectful, empathetic and compassionate personality A positive, pro-active, solution oriented attitude Reliability and punctuality Experience in a cemetery, funeral services, or similar bereavement-related industry is advantageous but not essential A willingness to learn and develop within the role A full, clean driver's license is essential What we offer We are a small team in a supportive and friendly work environment where your contributions will be valued.
