About the Role We are looking for a Consultant Urologist to join the Surgical Department at Whangārei Hospital. Working across a diverse population and broad range of acute medicine specialities, you will have the chance to truly make a difference whilst developing your career and be part of a groundbreaking step for Northland, now expanding its surgical capability with the introduction of advanced robotic urology surgery. We are looking for a skilled Consultant Urologist to provide safe, efficient and effective urology services to the Northland community. This role is predominantly based in Whangārei; however, it does include occasional travel to rural areas, including Kaitaia Hospital, on a rostered basis. There is an on-call roster split between the consultants, and you will also need to participate in the supervision and teaching of resident medical officers within the urology service. About the Location As well as a warm climate, the "winterless north" offers excellent schools; affordable housing and scenic coastal areas offering a range of recreational activities. We are just a two hours' drive or 25-minute flight from the international hub of Auckland. About you To be considered you must have or be eligible for specialist (or locum tenens) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in a Urology Vocational scope of practice. If you are currently overseas / not yet registered, we can assist you with the application process to obtain MCNZ registration.
