About the role/ Ō tetūranga This is akey Principal Advisor role supporting the Head of Authorisations and Advisory to deliver both strategic advice and day-to-day operational outcomes. You’ll operate as a trusted partner, working across a wide range of priorities, from shaping strategy and advising on complex regulatory issues, through to ensuring performance, risk, and workflow are well managed. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, comfortable with ambiguity, and motivated to take initiative, someone who can connect the dots across the system and turn strategic intent into practical, operational results. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of strategy and delivery. You’ll have real influence on how we support safe outcomes across Aotearoa, while building strong connections across WorkSafe and with our external partners. What You’ll Do/ Kotōuakemahi Provide trusted strategic advice and practical support to the Head and leadership team. Identify, monitor, and manage organisational and regulatory risks. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal leaders and external partners. Lead and design purposeful stakeholder engagement activities. Drive performance through clear processes, systems, and insight-led reporting. Contribute to strategic initiatives and continuous improvement across the group. Experience working in a regulatory or complex public sector environment Strong initiative and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment Ability to see the bigger strategic picture and connect this to operational delivery Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence at senior levels Strong judgement and confidence navigating ambiguity and complexity Experience developing high-quality reports, insights, and advice for decision makers Salary range/Awhe utu The expected starting base salary is $130,588-$144,295 (KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contributions are additional). From 1 April 2026 our KiwiSaver employer contribution increased to 3.5%.
