As our business continues to grow throughout New Zealand, we're looking for an enthusiastic and reliable contractor to represent our brand across Tauranga and surrounding areas. This is a varied, hands-on role combining retail sales support, merchandising, customer relationship management and event management. Scope of Services We are seeking an experienced independent contractor to provide retail sales, merchandising and event services throughout Tauranga and surrounding areas. This opportunity is ideally suited to someone looking for flexible contract work alongside other clients, life or business commitments. The volume of work varies throughout the year and is driven by seasonal demand, promotional campaigns and event schedules. The busiest period is typically September through to December, while quieter months may have limited or no work available. Outside of scheduled events and agreed promotional activities, the successful contractor will have flexibility to manage their own schedule while delivering agreed retail servicing and customer support outcomes. Key Responsibilities Provide retail sales visits across the assigned territory. Build and maintain professional relationships with retail customers. Merchandise products and displays to company standards. Monitor stock levels and identify sales opportunities. Support retailers with product knowledge and promotional activity. Represent the Remarkable Cream brand professionally at all times. Event Management Provide event management services for approximately 4–10 major events annually, along with smaller private functions and promotional events throughout Tauranga and surrounding areas. Lead event setup, operation and pack down. Coordinate casual event staff where required. Ensure events operate professionally, safely and efficiently. Deliver exceptional customer experiences and maximise event sales. Prepare stock, equipment and promotional material for upcoming events. Ensure all alcohol sampling and event activities are conducted in full compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, Host Responsibility requirements, Special Licence conditions, responsible service of alcohol practices, and all company procedures. In-store sampling Deliver in-store sampling promotions occasionally throughout the year, with increased activity during the lead up to Christmas. These sessions are generally held on Friday and Saturday evenings approximately 4-7pm. Confidently engage with customers, provide product tastings, educate customers about the Remarkable Cream range, and drive sales while delivering an outstanding brand experience. General Services Provide services while following company systems, procedures and operational standards. Maintain positive relationships with customers and team members. Provide administrative and operational support as reasonably required to support the delivery of contracted services. Previous experience in retail sales, FMCG, hospitality, liquor, or account management. Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills. Strong merchandising and presentation skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Well organised with excellent attention to detail. Able to work independently and manage your own schedule. Comfortable using business technology. Able to follow systems, procedures and company instructions. Current full New Zealand driver's licence. Willing to travel as required. Must hold a current New Zealand Duty Manager's Certificate. Physically fit and capable of setting up, packing down and working at events, including lifting stock and equipment when required. Work will be allocated according to business requirements, event schedules and seasonal demand, with increased activity typically occurring between September and December. No minimum number of hours is guaranteed.
