Consultant Psychiatrist – Adult Mental Health Location: Waikato, New Zealand Employment Type: Permanent Salary: $200,000 – $350,000 per annum Dates: 1 January 2027 – 31 December 2027 About the Role An excellent opportunity is available for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a well-established mental health service based in Waikato. You will work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality psychiatric care across inpatient and community settings. International candidates can be considered. Key responsibilities include: Providing specialist psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment Leading and supervising junior medical staff and supporting multidisciplinary teams Participating in service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives Building strong relationships with patients, whānau (families), and community services to support recovery-focused care This role offers a supportive working environment with opportunities to develop subspecialty interests and contribute to service innovation.
