The Role We are seeking a seasoned and dependable Electrical Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join our team in a key strategic role. This position is critical to the successful delivery of multiple concurrent projects, each with its own set of priorities and complexities. We require someone with proven experience who can confidently manage the estimating process, contribute to project planning, and ensure each job is built on a solid financial and technical foundation. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed and competitive estimates, submitting tenders, and producing clear, accurate documentation that supports project delivery from inception to completion. Beyond technical expertise, we value a professional who brings practical insight, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach who can engage constructively with design engineers, suppliers, clients, and contribute meaningfully to the continuous improvement of our systems and outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Prepare cost estimates from conception to detailed designs. Develop scope, design, and work-planning documentation. Completing and submitting competitive project bid tenders. Produce Bill of Materials for Procurement. Create clear project handover document detailing Scope, including allowances, exclusions, and potential risks. Scope, design, and price variation work, as required. Collaborate with engineers, suppliers, and clients to strengthen partnerships. About You: Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Electrical Estimator or QS. Strong background in electrical design and project scoping. Highly organised, adaptable, and deadline driven. Skilled in Microsoft Office; experience with Simpro and MS Project an advantage. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Confident team player with strong interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Experience with managing a team would be an advantage. Ability to read and interpret Electrical schematics and technical documents. Commercial risk management and knowledge of 3910 and 3916 construction standards an advantage. Electrical Registration is desirable. Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and recognise accuracy is paramount.
