Engage Recruitment Support - Taupo, North Island We’re working with a Taupō-based organisation looking for an experienced Business Improvement Lead to provide leadership across business improvement, data and insights. This is a broad role spanning data strategy and governance, business intelligence, geospatial capability, organisational improvement, assurance and performance reporting. You’ll lead specialist capability across these areas, helping establish clear priorities, connect the work to wider organisational needs and strengthen how data and insight support better decisions. A key focus will be improving the foundations. That means strengthening data quality, governance and ownership, while helping BI, geospatial and emerging AI capability become more proactive and strategically connected to the needs of the organisation. You’ll also have an organisation-wide improvement lens, identifying opportunities, helping turn recommendations into practical action and ensuring the value of improvement work can be demonstrated. This isn’t a narrow data, audit or process-improvement role. You’ll need to see the bigger picture, bring specialist people together and work across the organisation to turn opportunities into practical progress. What you’ll be doing Leading and developing specialist capability across data, BI, geospatial and AI Setting priorities and coordinating work across a varied portfolio of projects and initiatives Strengthening data strategy, governance, quality and ownership Helping BI and geospatial capability become more proactive and connected to organisational priorities Supporting responsible AI adoption and identifying practical opportunities for AI and emerging technology Leading business improvement, assurance and the follow-through of audit and improvement recommendations Overseeing quality non-financial performance reporting and providing strategic input into data, analytics, AI and improvement roadmaps Building strong relationships across the organisation to identify opportunities, resolve barriers and demonstrate measurable value What we’re looking for We’re interested in experienced leaders who can work across people, data, improvement and organisational performance. What matters is being able to understand how the pieces connect, provide direction to capable people and turn specialist capability into wider organisational value. You’ll ideally bring: Leadership background within business improvement, business intelligence, digital transformation, audit/assurance or a related environment Strategic problem-solving and practical business improvement capability Broad exposure across data, performance, assurance and improvement activity The ability to see the bigger picture and connect different areas of work to organisational priorities Confident people leadership, with the ability to create clarity, set priorities and build momentum The ability to build strong relationships and influence across different parts of an organisation Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and communicating complex information clearly A practical improvement mindset, focused on turning better data, technology and ways of working into tangible value Experience with data governance, performance reporting, internal assurance or emerging AI capability would be useful. What’s on offer? This is an opportunity to work across a genuinely broad portfolio rather than being confined to one specialist discipline. You’ll also be joining an organisation that offers: Flexible, family-friendly working Wellbeing support and employee benefits Career development and growth opportunities A strong focus on supporting people to develop their strengths Keen to learn more? If you enjoy joining the dots between data, people and organisational improvement, and turning good ideas into practical progress, this is worth a conversation.
