Milford is looking for a Sustainable Investment Associate to join their Sustainable Investment function. This is a governance, compliance and reporting-focused role for someone early in their career - equal parts controls, documentation and stakeholder coordination, with genuine exposure to sustainability, ESG and stewardship along the way. Milford's Sustainable Investment function supports the governance framework underpinning the firm's sustainable investment strategy - helping ensure regulatory obligations, public commitments and internal policies are met, while promoting consistency, transparency and accountability across the business. About the role This role provides governance, compliance and reporting support across Milford's Sustainable Investment function, with a particular focus on monitoring compliance with the sustainable investment policy, coordinating internal and external reporting, and supporting stewardship and proxy voting activities. You'll work closely with investment professionals, compliance, risk and client-facing teams to help embed consistent, transparent and audit-ready sustainable investment practices. Key responsibilities Monitoring compliance with Milford's sustainable investment policy, including exclusions, controversies and controls, and escalating issues Maintaining governance documentation and compliance monitoring records Supporting proxy voting analysis, administration and company/policy engagements Preparing reporting packs, client reporting and responsible investment disclosures (e.g. UNPRI, Sustainability Statement) Coordinating ESG data collection, supporting due diligence responses, and identifying process improvements Key To Success in the Role You'll bring attention to detail, sound judgement and a pragmatic, principled approach to governance and compliance - genuinely curious about what ESG means in an investment context, without losing sight of the discipline the role demands. We're looking for someone with: Around 2-3 years' experience in financial services in investment operations, compliance, governance or a related field A relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, Economics, Business, Sustainability, Law or a related discipline Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills, with the ability to analyse and validate data Strong document management and record-keeping capability Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines Exposure to sustainability, ESG or responsible investment practices is an advantage but not essential Why Milford?
