Certified Electrician Rangiora, Canterbury | Pump Services 2010 Ltd Pump Services 2010 Ltd is a New Zealand-owned water solutions company providing specialist pumping, irrigation and water-system services to rural, residential and commercial customers throughout Canterbury and beyond. Our Rangiora branch plays an important role in supporting Canterbury’s rural and residential communities. We work across a diverse range of water systems, irrigation installations, pumps and electrical controls, helping our customers keep their water infrastructure operating reliably and efficiently. We are now looking for a Certified Electrician to join our supportive and growing team. This is a practical, hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems and delivering reliable solutions for customers. No two days are the same, and the role provides an excellent opportunity to broaden your electrical, pumping and water-system knowledge while working alongside an experienced team. About the Role As a Certified Electrician with Pump Services 2010 Ltd, you will work across a variety of farm, rural and residential water systems , carrying out electrical installations, servicing, fault finding and maintenance. You will be involved in both planned work and reactive breakdowns, often travelling to customer sites to diagnose issues and get systems operating again as quickly and safely as possible. Your responsibilities will include: Installing, servicing and maintaining pumps and associated electrical systems. Electrical installation and maintenance associated with rural, agricultural and residential water systems. Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults, control-system issues and pump-related problems on-site. Working with variable speed drives (VSDs) and other pump control equipment. Fault finding and troubleshooting electrical and control systems. Supporting new installations, upgrades, planned maintenance and project work. Responding to customer breakdowns and providing practical, effective solutions. Working closely with the wider team to ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Communicating directly with customers and providing professional, friendly service. Completing accurate job documentation, service reports and relevant paperwork. Managing your workload and prioritising jobs effectively while working across multiple customer sites. Maintaining a strong focus on electrical safety, site safety and company procedures. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys finding solutions and is confident dealing directly with customers. Ideally, you will have: NZ Electrical Registration/Certification and the ability to work as a qualified electrician in New Zealand. Practical experience with electrical fault finding and troubleshooting. Knowledge and/or experience working with variable speed drives (VSDs) . A genuine interest in pumps, water systems, irrigation and associated electrical controls. A hands-on approach and a natural ability to diagnose problems and find practical solutions. The ability to work outdoors and in a variety of rural and residential environments. Strong communication and customer-service skills. The confidence to work independently on customer sites while also contributing positively to a team. Good organisation and time-management skills. A strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Reliability, initiative and a willingness to take ownership of your work. A willingness to continue learning and develop your technical knowledge. Industry experience in pumps, irrigation or water systems is advantageous, but not essential for the right applicant.
