Kaitohu Matua | Senior Advisor, Tāmaki Makaurau

Our Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) team are looking for a Kaitohu Matua | Senior Advisor. This is a full time, permanent opportunity. Te whai wāhitanga | The opportunity As a Senior Advisor, you will lead work with whānau, hapū, iwi, Māori organisations, communities and government agencies to deliver initiatives that strengthen long-term social and economic outcomes for Māori. You’ll act as a key conduit between Te Puni Kōkiri and Māori communities, ensuring information flows effectively in both directions. You’ll analyse local insights on Māori views, aspirations and experiences to inform policy thinking. As a stakeholder relationship lead, you’ll also manage local contractual arrangements and help shape investment decisions, working closely with other Te Puni Kōkiri teams. You’ll also provide mentoring and coaching to Advisors across the region. The likely appointment range is $105,100 to $116,777 based on skills and experience. About you To be successful in this role, you will bring: Strong writing skills Solid stakeholder engagement skills An understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti ō Waitangi and recognise the importance of the Treaty/Tiriti from both Māori and Crown perspectives An understanding of the machinery of Government, public service and public sector processes that ensure the impartiality of Public Servants Experience working in a Kaupapa Māori environment A full, clean driver license Experience working in an iwi organisation, Māori organisation or in local Government would be advantageous What you will get in return Te Puni Kōkiri is a diverse and rewarding working environment full of passionate kaimahi focused on creating solutions that will help our communities.
