Primary Mental Health, Addiction and Intake Practitioner For nearly 30 years, Vibe has been supporting young people across Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai (the Hutt Valley) through accessible, integrated health and social services. As a Youth One Stop Shop (YOSS), we work alongside rangatahi aged 10–24 to support their wellbeing, aspirations, and potential. We're looking for a passionate and skilled Primary Mental Health, Addiction and Intakes Practitioner to join our Te Puāwai Hauora and contribute to positive wellbeing outcomes for young people aged 12-24 years across the Hutt Valley. About the role Working as part of Vibe’s Primary Mental Health and Addictions team, you will support young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health and addiction-related distress. This role provides youth-focused mental health and addiction intake, assessment, brief intervention, therapeutic programme delivery, follow-up, and coordinated packages of care within a multidisciplinary, strengths-based and culturally responsive model. Key responsibilities: Provides timely mental health and wellbeing intake, screening, assessment, safety planning and triage. Deliver brief mental health and AOD interventions including therapeutic and programme-based responses. Develop individualised intervention and treatment plans that reflect rangatahi goals, strengths and needs. Work collaboratively with young people, whānau, colleagues and external providers to support coordinated care. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribution to service development, reporting and quality improvement. About you: you have experience delivering mental health and/or alcohol and other drug interventions with young people or young adults. you hold, or are working towards, full registration with a relevant professional body such as NZAC, NZCCA, DAPAANZ or equivalent. you are committed to youth-centred, strengths-based, trauma-informed and culturally safe practice. you bring strong clinical judgement, clear communication, professionalism and a collaborative approach. You demonstrate a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity, and inclusive practice within the rainbow/LGBTQIA+ communities.
