Asian Family Services – North Shore, North Island Full-time, fixed term role (1 year) with potential to become permanent Auckland based Birthday leave 2 direct reports About the role Finance & Corporate Services Manager at Asian Family Services, reporting to GM Finance & Corporate Services. This role is responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and funder accountability for AFS, while also overseeing a broad range of corporate services including property, facilities, insurance, fleet, assets, procurement, contracts and administration support. This is a hands‑on role that provides practical financial and operational advice to the GM Finance & Corporate Services and wider organisation. You will also lead a small administration team, strengthen internal processes and controls, and identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and reliability of finance and corporate services. Key responsibilities Prepare monthly journals, reconciliations and management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow reporting Provide clear variance commentary, identify emerging risks and recommend corrective action Coordinate annual budgets and quarterly forecasts with managers, including scenario and workforce-cost modelling Monitor cash flow, significant movements and funding timing, escalating concerns promptly Monitor contract income, revenue recognition and expenditure against funding agreements Prepare accurate, timely funder and contract financial reports Prepare audit schedules and coordinate information requests and supporting documentation Maintain effective finance procedures, reconciliations, controls and compliance records Provide practical financial advice to managers and budget holders Improve reporting, coding and finance systems to reduce manual effort and strengthen reliability Manage property leases, facilities, office requirements, insurance, fleet and organisational assets Oversee procurement and supplier relationships to support value for money, service quality and appropriate approvals Lead, manage and develop the administration team, including recruitment, onboarding, performance development, coaching and wellbeing support About you CA/CPA or equivalent, completed, underway or planned Relevant experience across accounting, corporate services and people leadership Strong experience in month-end reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, funder reporting and audit preparation Strong Excel capability and confidence using financial models and reports Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and finance systems such as Xero or ApprovalMax Experience managing property, facilities, insurance, fleet, assets, procurement, suppliers and contract administration Experience leading and coaching a small team, with sound judgement and the ability to prioritise competing demands Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain financial and operational matters clearly Understanding of government funding contracts and funding models Not-for-profit, health, social services, public sector or grant-funded experience is desirable About us Asian Family Services (AFS) has been providing support to our Asian communities in New Zealand since 1998.
