Join our Christchurch team as a Diesel Technician and specialise in the servicing, maintenance and repair of cranes and construction equipment. As we continue to grow, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact by delivering expert support to customers and helping shape the future of our local crane service operation. Job Description You'll be the technician customers trust to keep their machines running at their best. From diagnostics through to major repairs, you'll tackle a wide variety of work using the latest diagnostic tools and your own technical expertise. Your day will include: Diagnosing, servicing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions and electrical systems. Completing preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing on cranes and associated equipment. Troubleshooting complex faults and delivering quality repairs the first time. Conducting inspections and identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance. Building great relationships with customers by providing practical advice and exceptional service. Qualifications Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic. Solid experience working on cranes, construction equipment or other heavy machinery. Strong diagnostic skills across diesel, hydraulic and electrical systems. Experience using diagnostic software and electronic testing equipment. Full Class 1 licence (Class 2 and WTR endorsements are an advantage). A positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to safe work practices. The ability to work independently while contributing to the growth of our crane service operation in Christchurch. Additional Information Competitive hourly rate based on your experience. Time and a half after 8 hours each day and all weekend work. Tool allowance on top of your hourly rate.
