As we enter a peak period in our nursery operations, we are seeking a Nursery Technician to join our team on a seven-month fixed-term assignment. This hands‑on role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, develop your knowledge of nursery operations, and gain exposure to hatchery activities. Key Responsibilities Support daily oyster nursery and pond operations. Undertake spat grading and husbandry activities. Assist with biosecurity monitoring and compliance. Carry out system maintenance, cleaning, and general housekeeping. Support pond algae production. Assist with hatchery operations, including broodstock husbandry, algae production, spawning, and early life-stage rearing. About You To be successful in this role, you will: Be reliable, hardworking, and committed to delivering high‑quality work. Have a process‑focused approach with a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Enjoy working as part of a team while being comfortable working independently. Be adaptable, willing to learn, and keen to develop your skills within aquaculture. Demonstrate a positive, practical attitude and strong work ethic. Be willing to contribute across a variety of tasks. Ideally, you will be studying towards, or have completed, an aquaculture qualification. Previous experience in a nursery or aquaculture environment is highly advantageous. Additional Information The role includes rostered weekend work.
