Oro Tamariki Social Worker Full-time position Te Arawa Whānau Ora Charitable Trust is a collective of whānau ora providers in the Te Arawa area. We are seeking a passionate and committed Social Worker to join our Oro Tamariki team. Grounded in whakapono, tūmanako and aroha, this role works alongside tamariki and whānau to strengthen wellbeing, nurture aspirations and support whānau to thrive. We deliver from a Kaupapa Māori and values-based framework, and welcome applicants who bring a strengths-based, culturally responsive approach and a commitment to achieving meaningful outcomes for whānau. The Oro Tamariki Social Worker provides both whānau coordination and service coordination. You will build trusted, kanohi ki te kanohi relationships with whānau; support the development and ongoing review of aspirational, whānau-led plans; and connect tamariki and whānau with the people, services and opportunities that will support their moemoeā. You will also build strong relationships with providers and community partners to ensure support is coordinated, accessible, responsive and mana-enhancing. This role includes maintaining a caseload, advocating for whānau, identifying and escalating barriers within systems, contributing to workshops and community events, and maintaining accurate records and reporting. You will hold professional registration relevant to your profession, meet all required competency standards, and be committed to safe, ethical and high-quality practice. Applicants for this position must hold a New Zealand residency or a valid NZ work visa. You will be required to undergo pre-employment vetting as well as the Children’s Act (CA) vetting by the New Zealand Police. A current annual practising certificate with the Social Workers Registration Board is required.
