Tribe Recruitment – Wellington Central, North Island About the Opportunity We're recruiting a Senior Policy Analyst to lead the development of high-quality advice for Ministers on complex, ambiguous and sensitive policy issues. You'll produce in-depth policy research and analysis, applying robust analytical frameworks to develop well-considered options and recommendations. You'll lead multiple complex policy projects or programmes of work, including planning, risk management, reporting, and quality assurance. You'll work closely with delivery and implementation teams to ensure practical implementation advice is built into policy development from the outset. You'll build and influence relationships across government agencies and external stakeholders, contributing to joint policy direction where required. What You'll Bring Demonstrated experience leading public policy analysis and delivering advice to government on complex social, economic, regulatory or related issues. Strong understanding of New Zealand's machinery of government and legislative processes (Cabinet processes and Budget decision-making experience preferred). Proven ability to use a range of quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques appropriately. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex issues clearly and concisely. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across diverse groups and navigate competing perspectives. Awareness of, and sensitivity to, the cultural values and particular needs of Māori, including understanding Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and their implications for policy development.
