Experienced Arborist / Crew Leader - 4 Day Week + Management Pathway Canterbury Tree Experts - Christchurch, South Island You will be responsible for leading a small arborist crew and overseeing the day-to-day completion of residential and commercial tree work. This is not an entry-level position. You will be confident running jobs, leading a crew, dealing with customers and completing tree work safely and efficiently to a high standard. For the right person, there is a genuine opportunity to move into operations and management within 24 months, taking on greater responsibility within the business. Key responsibilities Leading and organizing the crew on site Climbing and completing technical tree work Tree removals and sectional dismantling Tree pruning and reductions Rigging and lowering operations Hedge and general arboricultural work Operating chainsaws, chippers and other arborist equipment Planning jobs and identifying hazards Maintaining high health and safety standards Communicating professionally with customers About you Level 3 Arboriculture qualification or equivalent as a minimum Strong practical arboriculture experience Excellent climbing ability Experience with tree removals, pruning, rigging and technical tree work The ability to confidently lead and organize a crew A strong understanding of arboricultural health and safety Good communication and customer service skills Physically and mentally fit A strong work ethic and positive attitude About us Canterbury Tree Experts is a Christchurch-based arborist company carrying out a wide variety of tree work throughout Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region.
