Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey. Member Relationship Manager (Upper South Island) Build relationships. Support an industry. Grow your career. Transporting New Zealand is the national membership organisation representing New Zealand's road freight industry. Every day we work alongside transport operators, advocating for better outcomes, providing practical support, and helping our members run successful businesses. We're growing our membership team and are looking for an additional Member Relationship Manager to support our members across the Upper South Island. Based in Canterbury, you'll look after members across Canterbury, Nelson, Tasman, Marlborough and the West Coast. You'll spend regular time on the road meeting transport operators, getting to know their businesses, understanding what matters to them, and connecting them with the support, information and services available through Transporting New Zealand. You’ll be joining an experienced membership team, making this a great next step if you've built a solid foundation in customer, account or relationship management and are ready to take on more responsibility and manage your own portfolio. You don't need to come from the transport industry. We can teach you the industry. What matters most is that you're confident with people, organised, proactive and keen to learn. If you enjoy building long-term relationships, managing your own schedule and being out meeting people rather than sitting behind a desk all day, we'd love to hear from you. What you'll be doing Building and maintaining relationships with members across the Upper South Island Regularly getting out and meeting members through face-to-face visits, phone calls and online meetings Learning about members' businesses, understanding what matters to them and making sure their issues are heard Helping coordinate sector group meetings, member engagement and regional events Connecting members with relevant products, services, information and industry support Working with our Policy & Advocacy team to share member feedback and issues Keeping accurate and useful records in our CRM and digital systems Identifying prospective members and helping grow our membership Working alongside an experienced national membership team who can provide support and guidance as you develop in the role. About you You may already have experience in areas such as account management, customer service, customer success, sales, business development or relationship management. You’ll be someone who: Enjoys meeting people and can build rapport and trust Is organised and able to plan your own days and follow through on commitments Is comfortable picking up the phone, starting conversations and meeting new people Takes initiative and looks for solutions rather than waiting to be told what to do Is confident using digital systems and willing to learn our CRM Enjoys being out on the road and visiting members face to face Is comfortable with regular travel throughout the Upper South Island Can manage competing priorities while keeping on top of the details Communicates professionally with a wide range of people Is curious, willing to learn and interested in developing your commercial and relationship management skills. Experience in transport or logistics would be useful, but it's certainly not essential. If you have strong people skills, a good work ethic, the confidence to build relationships and a willingness to learn the industry, we'd like to hear from you. What we offer Remote working A role with plenty of variety and autonomy Company vehicle Company phone plan Flexible working environment The opportunity to travel throughout the Upper South Island Support from an experienced national membership team The opportunity to develop your relationship management and industry knowledge A role where you can make a genuine difference to one of New Zealand's most important industries Applications close 10 September 2026.
