We're looking for an organised, proactive and people-focused Dispatch Team Leader to join our team at our Kihikihi nursery. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of plants from nursery to customer. Working across Sales, Production and Dispatch, you'll coordinate daily priorities, communicate changing requirements and ensure customer orders are prepared accurately, efficiently and leave on time. Drawing on your experience in commercial nursery production, you'll ensure plants are handled, graded, presented, and dispatched to the high standards our customers expect. You'll also provide day-to-day leadership for our Vietnamese contractor team, creating a positive, productive work environment while maintaining Growing Spectrum's high standards of quality, efficiency and safety. It is a minimum 40 hour per week role. Normal hours are 7.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am – 2pm Friday but overtime and some weekend work may be required during peak seasons. If you're a natural leader with excellent communication skills, experience leading contractor teams, a strong understanding of commercial nursery operations, and you're fluent in both Vietnamese and English, we'd love to hear from you. What You’ll Be Doing Lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the dispatch team. Supervise, support and motivate our Vietnamese contractor team. Work closely with our Sales and Production teams to coordinate daily dispatch priorities. Ensure customer orders are picked, prepared and dispatched accurately and on schedule. Apply sound horticultural knowledge to ensure plants are handled, staged and dispatched in a manner that protects plant quality and presentation. Monitor plant quality, grading and presentation prior to dispatch, ensuring products meet Growing Spectrum's standards and customer expectations. Communicate changing priorities and operational requirements across departments. Allocate workloads and ensure resources are used efficiently. Train, coach and support team members. Monitor productivity, quality and workplace safety. Assist with dispatch duties alongside the team when required. What We’re Looking For Previous experience leading or supervising a contractor or operational team. Previous experience working in a commercial nursery, horticultural production environment or similar plant-based operation. Sound knowledge of plant quality, plant handling and nursery production practices. Fluent verbal communication in both Vietnamese and English, as the clear communication of Health & Safety matters is essential, as well as communication of work/process instructions. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Strong organisational and planning ability. A hands-on leadership style with the willingness to lead by example. The ability to prioritise competing demands and solve problems in a fast-paced environment. A strong focus on quality, efficiency and customer service.
