About the role We are seeking Retail Sales Assistants to join The WoolPress Arrowtown team, Te Huia Arrowtown and Queenstown Teams on a full-time basis. As a Retail Sales Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding customer service and driving sales across our store. Your enthusiasm, product knowledge, and commitment to excellence will directly contribute to the success of our retail operations and the satisfaction of our customers. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your retail career within a dynamic and supportive team environment. You must have a valid work visa, be able to work for at least 6 months, 3 months for each company, and be in New Zealand for a face-to-face interview. Key responsibilities Providing friendly, attentive and knowledgeable customer service to all shoppers, assisting them in finding products that meet their needs Processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system, handling cash and card payments with care Maintaining a clean, organised and visually appealing store environment, including restocking shelves and arranging merchandise displays Building product knowledge and being able to confidently recommend items to customers based on their requirements Assisting with stock management, including receiving, checking and labelling new merchandise Supporting the retail team in achieving sales targets and promotional objectives Adhering to all store policies, health and safety regulations, and company procedures Contributing to a positive team atmosphere and supporting colleagues in delivering excellence What we're looking for Previous retail experience or a demonstrated commitment to retail. Strong customer service skills with a genuine desire to help people and create positive interactions The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining attention to detail Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team Reliable, punctual and professional in approach to work Basic numeracy skills and competency with point-of-sale systems (training will be provided) Physical capability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry stock, and perform repetitive tasks A positive attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn and develop The ability to speak another language , French , German , Mandarin, Italian, Spanish.
