Since 1935, we have been at the forefront of service provision, advocacy, and information sharing, working closely with disabled people / whānau hauā and their families across New Zealand. Job Title: Service Manager Job Location: Palmerston North Hours: Permanent, 40 hours per week Job specific information: This role offers you an exciting opportunity to become involved in providing leadership to theManawatu/Horowhenua, Wairarapa and Whanganui branches. This position involves relationship building, support and administration, along with leading a team of service staff who provide support services, information, and advocacy for both disabled people and their family/whanau. Whether you have previous experience leading service delivery in an organisation or are new to the not-for-profit sector, we will provide you with the training, resources, and development you need to apply your managerial skillsets and thrive in this role. About the Role: Provide effective leadership and supervision to staff. Drive quality improvement activities and contributes to regional and branch planning. Contribute to the region’s strategic / business planning, and lead implementation of agreed organisational change. Lead and coordinate high quality services that are creative, flexible, and responsive to the needs of disabled people and their families / whanau; and Develop and maintain positive working relationships with disability consumer groups and governance. About you: Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following personal skills and attributes and professional skills and knowledge. You will understand person and family directed planning and community development concepts. Strong time management and organisational skills. You have team leadership experience or can provide relevant examples that highlight these skills. You hold a relevant qualification in Social Services or Human Services or equivalent qualification and/or work experience; and You may have experience working in a social services agency. Working with disabled children/youth/ adults, their families/whanau and significant others would be advantageous. Application closing date: 5pm on Thursday 3rd September 2026 Why us?
