Teacher Aide - Hawke's Bay (based in Hastings) Central Regional Health School – Hastings, North Island Teacher Aide: 9am to 3.00pm (including a 30-minute unpaid mealbreak), three days a week. Fixed term, start as soon as possible in Term 3 or 4 and finish at the end of Term4 2026 The successful applicant will provide teacher aide support for our Hawke’s Bay students whose health prevents them from attending their regular school. The teaching team is based at the HB Hub, 100 McLeod Street, Hastings. Seeking a warm and nurturing person to support the team of teachers and students. Roles may be administrative, making resources to support teachers, maintaining the resource room and Hub, supervising students, supporting students or groups and their individual programmes of learning, and transitioning students into school. Personal attributes indicative of success in this environment are: being a positive role model, having a calm personality and initiative, being reflective, a good clear communicator, having empathy, good common sense, self-confidence, and being able to connect with students of different ages. Previous experience working within a school setting would be helpful. Students can range in age from 5 years to 18 years. This position will be 18 hours per week(including 3 x 30 minute unpaid meal break) over three days, for the rest of the school year of 2026. Some flexibility on days of work can be discussed. The start date will be term 3, ideally week 10, on Monday 21st September, 2026. (Depending on the police vetting) A full, clean NZ Driver’s Licence is required for this position as you may be requested to transport students alongside another staff member.
