Scenic Hotel Group – Burnside, South Island Scenic Hotel Group: Support Office Location: 9 Sheffield Crescent, Burnside, Christchurch 8053 Hours of Work: Guaranteed a minimum of 30-32 hours per week. Rotating roster; primarily Monday - Friday but will include the occasional Saturday shift. Employment Type: Full-time permanent position available. Pay rate: $25 - $26 per hour Explore: https://www.scenichotelgroup.co.nz/ Based in Christchurch at our Scenic Hotel Group Support Office, as the Reservations Agent you'll be the first point of contact for our guests, playing a vital role in shaping their experience before they even arrive. Your key focus will be on handling all aspects of the reservations process with professionalism, efficiency, and care. Key Tasks & Responsibilities Assist guests with inquiries, reservation requests, and provide information about room availability, rates, and hotel amenities. Address and resolve guest concerns or issues related to reservations. Enter reservation details accurately into the hotel's booking system. Promote special packages, upgrades, and additional services to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue. Manage multiple reservations simultaneously, balancing phone calls, emails. Clearly communicate cancellation policies, check-in/check-out times, and other relevant information to guests. Customer-focused attitude with the ability to handle guest inquiries and concerns professionally. Time management skills to handle a fast-paced environment effectively. Provide support to the front desk team with reservation queries or guest details Problem-solving capabilities to address guest needs and challenges. Preferred Skills & Experience: 1–2 years of experience in hotel reservations or a related hospitality position (preferred) Knowledge of RMS or similar hotel PMS systems (advantageous) Excellent spoken and written English A warm, professional, and resilient personality Strong time management and multi-tasking ability Impeccable attention to detail and a methodical work style Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
