Support Worker (Eating Disorder Recovery Coach) Recovered Living NZ – Sefton, South Island Permanent and Fixed-Term (Maternity Leave Cover) Opportunities Start Date: August 2026 Join a team dedicated to transforming lives through recovery. Recovered Living NZ is New Zealand's only residential, comprehensive eating disorder care facility. Our mission is to support people to achieve full recovery through compassionate, specialist care delivered in a safe, nurturing home-like environment. Our person-centred programme combines specialist eating disorder treatment with everyday support, helping people reconnect with themselves and move confidently toward lasting recovery. We are currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Recovery Coach to join our multidisciplinary team who will work a variety of shifts within our 24-hour facility. The role will be part–time (hours to be negotiated) on a two week rotating roster, with a combination of permanent and fixed term shifts available. The exact hours offered may vary depending on operational requirements and the outcome of internal staffing processes. These shifts will include a variety of week and weekend, day and overnight shifts. Typical shift times include: 6:30am – 2:30pm 2:00pm – 10:00pm 8:30pm – 7:00am Weekend availability is essential. Fixed-Term Maternity Leave Position This maternity leave cover is expected to run from August 2026 through to March 2027. What You’ll Do As a Recovery Coach, you will play an important role in supporting clients through their recovery journey. You will provide practical and emotional support while helping create a safe and encouraging environment. Your responsibilities may include: Providing meal and snack support for clients Supporting clients with daily routines Monitoring client wellbeing and communicating concerns to the clinical team Facilitating activities such as games, walks and other recovery-focused experiences Assisting clients with admission or discharge logistics and paperwork Assisting with community outings alongside therapists and dietitians Supervising medication administration (full training provided) Maintaining accurate documentation and records Assisting with light household duties to help maintain a welcoming environment About You We are looking for someone who is compassionate, reliable, and committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. You will: Be committed to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and understand the importance of cultural safety and partnership Hold a current New Zealand driver’s licence, and be confident driving an 8‑seater people mover Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Be organised, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks Show initiative while maintaining healthy professional boundaries Demonstrate empathy, warmth, and genuine care for others Have a positive and healthy relationship with food and body image Enjoy working both independently and collaboratively within a team Have an interest in eating disorder recovery and mental health Be comfortable supporting clients who may have experienced complex life challenges Ideally be willing to pick up additional shifts when required No prior eating disorder experience is required.
