Welldone Construction Limited is a small but growing construction company based in Auckland. We undertake residential construction work across the Auckland region and are currently looking for two experienced Construction Supervisors to join our team. This is a site-based, hands‑on supervision role . You will be responsible for supervising and coordinating carpentry workers across our residential construction sites and supporting the General Manager with day‑to‑day site operations. Key Responsibilities Attend residential construction sites allocated by the General Manager. Communicate daily work priorities and instructions to carpentry workers based on the approved construction programme and directions from the main contractor or site manager. Allocate routine carpentry tasks to workers according to their skills, experience and site requirements. Monitor workers’ attendance, daily progress and completion of assigned work. Check carpentry work against approved plans, specifications and instructions provided by the main contractor or site manager. Identify visible defects, incomplete work, delays and practical site issues, and report them promptly to management or the main contractor. Monitor the use and availability of basic carpentry materials, tools and equipment and report shortages to management. Conduct or assist with toolbox meetings and help ensure workers comply with site health and safety requirements, including the correct use of PPE. Identify and report site hazards, unsafe work practices, accidents and incidents in accordance with company procedures. Coordinate routine communication between carpentry workers, company management, the main contractor and other trades on site. Assist with preparations for scheduled site inspections and report any outstanding work. Maintain basic site records, including progress notes, site photographs, attendance information, defects and completed work. Provide regular site progress updates to the General Manager. Travel between construction sites across the Auckland region as required. Position Details Position: Construction Supervisor Number of positions: 2 Location: Auckland region Employment type: Permanent, full-time Pay rate: $36.00–$40.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience Guaranteed hours: At least 30 hours per week Working days: 5–6 days per week, depending on project requirements Work locations: Various residential construction sites across the Auckland region Transport: Applicants must have their own reliable transport and be able to travel between sites Requirements The successful applicant must have: A relevant diploma or qualification in construction, engineering, construction supervision, construction management or a related field; or At least three years of relevant construction or site supervision experience may substitute for the formal qualification. Practical knowledge of residential construction and carpentry work. Ability to read and understand construction plans and site instructions. Experience supervising or coordinating construction workers. Good communication and organisational skills. Strong attention to quality and detail. Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements. Ability to work independently and take responsibility for day‑to‑day site supervision. Good physical fitness and the ability to work in an active construction site environment. A reliable work ethic and ability to manage multiple site priorities. Own reliable transport. This role focuses on day‑to‑day site supervision and coordination of carpentry workers . Overall project planning, quotations, contracts, budgets, client negotiations and other commercial decisions remain the responsibility of company management.
