DescriptionMō te tūranga | About the role\nYou will be partnered with two Directorates to embed strong, practical health and safety practices that supportorganisationalgoals.
\nThe directorates you support are responsible for, but not limited to: engineering, biosecurity, biodiversity, flood response, environmental science & monitoring.
\nInfluence how work is done every day by championing safe,healthyand sustainable ways of working.
\nProvide expert advice and coaching to managers on risk management, incidentinvestigationand legislative obligations.
\nLead health and safetyprogrammes, critical riskreviewsand continuous improvement initiatives.
\nContribute to the development and ongoing effectiveness of the Health and Safety Management System.
\nTrusted health and safety professional with strong business partnering capability.
\nAdvanced technical knowledge with strong interpersonal skills.
\nConfident coaching and influencing leaders.
\nPragmatic and solution‐focused.
\nTertiaryqualificationin Health & Safety or Safety Management.
\nNEBOSH certificate
\nMinimum 8 years’ experience in a similar role.
\nExperience in risk assessment,auditingand investigation.
\nLocal government experienceis desirable, but not essential.
Mō te t\u012lla | About the team\nReporting to the Health, Safety & Wellbeing manager, work alongside the H&S Advisor to deliver organisational H&S initiatives.
\nThe role is part of the wider People & Capability team, encompassing Learning & Development and Human Resources.
