Job Description

Job Description Yard & Asset Management Manage the receipt, storage, sorting, and movement of CHEP pallets and other returnable assets. Control and maintain inventory accuracy across pallets, totes, stillages, cages, and reusable equipment. Conduct regular stock counts and reconciliations to ensure asset visibility and minimise losses. Safely operate forklifts and approved material handling equipment (MHE) to move, load, unload, and stack assets. Ensure assets are organised, stored safely, and readily available to support operational requirements. Monitor asset levels and support the efficient flow of pallets and equipment throughout the site. Documentation & Inventory Control Accurately record all incoming and outgoing pallet and returnable asset movements. Complete CHEP documentation and inventory transactions in a timely manner. Maintain accurate records and investigate inventory discrepancies. Support internal audits and inventory reviews through effective record keeping and stock reconciliation. Work with stakeholders across the business to resolve stock variances and improve asset visibility. Safety, Housekeeping & Continuous Improvement Follow all health and safety procedures and contribute to a strong safety culture. Complete daily equipment checks and report defects, hazards, incidents, or near misses. Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the hardstand area and support 5S initiatives. Remove damaged assets, waste, and hazards to ensure a safe and organised work environment. Identify opportunities to improve asset utilisation, pallet flow, storage practices, and operational efficiency. Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, productivity, and site performance. Qualifications What You'll Bring Current Forklift Licence and approved MHE competency. Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, distribution, or yard operations. Strong attention to detail and experience with inventory control or stock reconciliation. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Teams and inventory management systems. Desirable Experience working with CHEP pallets or returnable asset management. Knowledge of pallet control processes and inventory tracking. Familiarity with 5S, continuous improvement, and warehouse operational best practices.
