Refinery Technician

Morris and Watson – Auckland, North Island Morris and Watson Limited is seeking a Refinery Technician to join our team in a full-time role working 40 hours per week at our Onehunga premises. The successful candidate will be trained in the various refining procedures used to purify precious metals. Full training will be given in the handling of chemicals and the use of induction furnace technology. Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for carrying out refining processes to support the recovery and purification of precious metals. Duties include melting customer samples and precious metal materials, performing chemical digestion, filtration etc. Ensure safe handling, storage, treatment and disposal of chemical waste in compliance with environmental and company procedures. Provide support across factory and other operational activities. About you Good communication and organisational skills The ability to work within a small team The ability to follow instructions and safety protocols and guidelines The ability to lift routinely around 20 kg bags/buckets Health & Safety awareness, including keeping a tidy workspace Honest with an attention to detail regarding quality, weighing and following instructions including written operating procedures Must be prepared to undergo a police check Must hold New Zealand Citizenship, New Zealand Permanent Residency Experience as a refinery or foundry worker is an advantage but not a necessity About us Morris and Watson Limited is a fourth-generation family company that has been servicing the jewellery industry since 1928, we specialise in providing bullion, casting, fabricated metals, chain and refining.
