Civil Project Manager

A F THOMPSON CONTRACTING LTD – Matawhero, North Island Lead the delivery of civil infrastructure projects across the Gisborne region AFT is seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to take ownership of civil construction and infrastructure projects from planning through to completion. You'll manage scope, budget, and programme, work directly with and manage site teams and subcontractors — without a site engineer or supervisor layer in between — and be the key point of contact for clients throughout delivery. The Role Manage civil projects end-to-end — from tender/scoping through to practical completion Develop and maintain project programmes, budgets, and resourcing plans Work and manage site teams directly, including traffic management teams Coordinate subcontractors and consultants to keep projects on track Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and contractual standards Manage client relationships and act as the primary point of contact through delivery Manage variations, contractual matters, and project risk under NZS3910 or similar frameworks Genuine variety across roading, earthworks, and forestry-related civil projects, with a real mix of desk and field work About You Civil engineering qualification (degree or diploma), or equivalent industry experience Proven project management experience on NZ civil/infrastructure projects (roading, earthworks, forestry, or similar) Working knowledge of NZS3910 or comparable contract frameworks Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Current NZ driver's licence Comfortable managing multiple priorities and leading site and traffic teams directly What's on Offer Competitive salary, based on experience Company vehicle, phone, and laptop provided Based in Gisborne — varied civil and forestry project work across the region #J-18808-Ljbffr
