NZ College of Public Health Medicine – Wellington Central, North Island The Curriculum Development Lead will lead the end-to-end review, redesign, and implementation of the NZCPHM Public Health Medicine Training Programme curriculum. This is a multi-phase programme of work aimed at ensuring the curriculum is contemporary, evidence-informed and fit for purpose for the future public health workforce. The role combines curriculum leadership and instructional design expertise, with responsibility for translating strategic intent into a clear, implementable training programme that supports registrars, supervisors, and the wider system. Key responsibilities Lead and coordinate all phases of the curriculum redevelopment project, ensuring delivery against scope, timelines, and budget Lead review and refinement of the existing competency-based learning approach and develop agreed approach to a new/refined competency-based framework for Public Health Medicine Lead evaluation of current assessment methodologies and tools and analyse alignment between competency framework, learning activities and experiences, and programme assessment strategy Translate revised competencies and assessment framework into a cohesive curriculum and lead drafting of a clear, user-friendly curriculum document Design effective learning models, delivery approaches, and educational strategies, integrating modern pedagogy, digital learning, and emerging technologies Lead implementation of the revised curriculum and assessment framework, develop implementation plans, guidance materials, and transition pathways Lead structured engagement and co-design process with Fellows, registrars, and supervisors, partnering closely with the Māori and Pacific Caucus Ensure alignment with accreditation standards (MCNZ) and regulatory requirements and provide reporting and updates to governance groups About you Extensive experience in curriculum development and redesign (preferably postgraduate or vocational training) Understanding of te Tiriti o Waitangi, Hauora Māori, and equity-focused practice Demonstrated ability to align curriculum with competency frameworks and accreditation standards Experience leading complex, multi-phase projects Demonstrated capability to translate complex information into clear documentation and communications Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports and documents Demonstrated ability to work across professional, clinical and governance stakeholders Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation capability Well-developed interpersonal skills and confidence engaging with diverse stakeholders About us NZCPHM is the professional body responsible for the training, standards, and ongoing development of public health medicine specialists in Aotearoa New Zealand.
