Location: Mangere OR Ohinewai Reports to: GM People & Culture Join ABODO on a 12-month fixed-term contract (parental leave cover) and play a key role in championing our people, strengthening our culture, and supporting our exciting growth journey. We're looking for a passionate, practical, and people-focused People & Culture Advisor to join our team and help create an exceptional employee experience from recruitment through to development and beyond. If you love partnering with leaders, solving people challenges, improving processes, and helping teams thrive, we'd love to hear from you. What you'll be doing No two days are the same in this role. You'll be the trusted go-to person for leaders and employees, providing practical advice and support across the employee lifecycle while helping shape a workplace where people can do their best work. Partner with leaders on people matters, performance conversations, employee relations, and team development. Support recruitment, onboarding, internal movements, and offboarding. Coach leaders to build confidence and capability in people leadership. Maintain HR systems, records, reporting, and employment documentation. Help deliver engagement, wellbeing, recognition, and culture initiatives. Support People & Culture projects and continuous improvement opportunities. Use people data and insights to help drive smarter business decisions. What makes this role exciting? This is more than an HR advisory role. What you'll bring We're not looking for someone who’s done everything. We’re looking for someone who is curious, proactive, and passionate about people. Ideally, you’ll have: 3+ years' experience in HR, People & Culture, or a generalist advisory role. Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, performance, engagement, and employee lifecycle activities. Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail. Confidence using HR systems, Microsoft Office, and people data. Sound judgement, discretion, and a solutions-focused approach. The ability to build trust and credibility with people at all levels.
