Horizon Energy Group – Wellington Central, North Island Aquaheat New Zealand is expanding its Fire Protection capability in Wellington, and we're looking for an experienced Sprinkler Fitter to join our team. This is a hands‑on trade role where you'll work independently and as part of a team to deliver safe, compliant, high‑quality fire protection services across a wide range of sites. Aquaheat New Zealand is one of New Zealand's most respected HVAC and mechanical project contractors. Alongside our core business, we operate several specialist divisions including AquaFire, (fire protection solutions), Colt (louvre and smoke control systems), and Classic Metal (roofing and cladding solutions). With over 70 years' experience, we deliver end-to-end solutions across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. From heating, cooling, and ventilation to fire protection and roofing, we design, install, and maintain systems that help keep New Zealand running. About the role: In this role, you will: Carry out installation, planned maintenance, reactive service work, remedial repairs, and fault diagnostics on automatic fire sprinkler systems Work across systems including gas flood, drencher, pre‑action, charged riser, and other fire suppression systems Attend sites to complete inspections, testing, and installation work in line with NZ Standards and company guidelines Identify and report remedial works arising from maintenance inspections Coordinate activities to meet site requirements and client programmes Maintain accurate documentation, job sheets, time sheets, and as‑built drawings Communicate effectively with the Fire Sprinkler Manager, Project Manager, and wider fire protection team Ensure all work meets specification, quality, and statutory requirements Champion safe work practices and maintain a safe working environment Participate in after‑hours call‑outs on a rotating basis About you: Relevant industry experience in fire protection Strong knowledge of sprinkler standards and installation practices Experience in commercial and industrial installation and maintenance Ability to complete fault‑finding, diagnostics and remedial work Experience using hand and power tools Strong commitment to Health & Safety and safe work practices Ability to work independently and manage your own workload Good communication skills and a professional, reliable approach Current NZ Driver Licence What's in it for you?
