The Role This is a full‑time roll working weekdays and would suit someone who has previously worked in a toolroom/factory and is looking for a stable, friendly workplace environment. Your role will be extremely varied and will include building press tools (including maintenance of press tools) jigs, fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics and whilst not necessary roll forming experience would be very beneficial. You should be self‑motivated with good written and verbal communications skills and comfortable working with minimum supervision. Skills & Experience Mechanical maintenance and toolmaking experience in a manufacturing environment Competent in manual machining including lathes, mills, grinders and drill presses Experience with welding, fabrication, fitting and assembly work Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems Experience maintaining and repairing production machinery and plant equipment Ability to read and work from engineering/CAD drawings and site measurements Strong mechanical fault‑finding and practical problem‑solving skills Skilled in using precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy and fit Experience manufacturing custom components, tooling, jigs and fixtures Duties & Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and mechanical fault finding Respond promptly to production breakdowns to minimise downtime Manufacture, repair and modify tooling, jigs, fixtures and any custom engineering project Operate manual machines, tools and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently Perform fitting, assembly, welding and general fabrication work Measure, assess and repair worn components Read and work from engineering drawings to manufacture and install components Assist the senior toolmaker where needed Support tooling, installation, shutdown and engineering improvement projects Maintain workshop equipment and ensure a clean, safe and organised work environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
