Australian High Commission – Wellington Central, North Island Under direction, the role will work closely with the Property Manager and assist in the provision of property administration and services at the Australian High Commission. The position is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and timely transport for the Head of Mission (HOM) and other Australian High Commission (AHC) staff, visitors, and officials. Key responsibilities Provide safe, reliable and timely driving services for the Head of Mission, AHC staff, visitors and officials, including regular out-of-hours work. Coordinate driving schedules with the Head of Mission's Executive Assistant and support transport requirements for high-level/VIP visits, events and contingency planning. Manage the official vehicle fleet, including mileage records, servicing and maintenance records, registration, roadworthiness, cleanliness and financial reporting. Manage vehicle fuel requirements and coordinate fuel excise refunds and advice on personal vehicle arrangements and diplomatic plates for Australia-based staff. Support crisis preparedness and emergency arrangements, including stocktakes, replenishment of first aid and emergency supplies, AED checks and emergency warden duties. Manage stationery, office supplies and non-consumables, including kitchen cleaning products and photocopier/printer supplies. Process incoming and outgoing mail and diplomatic bags. Supervise contractors and undertake quality assurance as required. Arrange and support the set-up and breakdown of events and functions at the High Commission and official residence. Undertake other administrative, property and support duties as directed. About you Strong interpersonal and organisation skills with the ability to work as an effective member of a team, manage priorities and work independently. Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality, client-focused services, with the ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion and judgment with a professional demeanour. Experience in general administration and corporate support functions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Current and full New Zealand Driver Licence with no convictions. Extensive knowledge of the Wellington road networks, traffic systems and routes, with the ability to use navigation technology effectively. Basic vehicle maintenance skills, including the ability to undertake routine vehicle checks and report defects. Experience as a professional driver or a similar role is highly desirable. Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and after-hours work as required. Annual salary of NZD $63,630.12, plus employer KiwiSaver contributions equivalent to 6.5% of salary Comprehensive leave entitlements include uncapped sick leave and an additional 2 days of Public Holidays (on top of the 12 NZ Public Holidays) Performance-based rewards opportunities Full-time position, 37.5 hours per week with potential for overtime hours.
