We are currently looking for a highly motivated Commis Chef to join our team. With the emphasis on fun, innovative dining, Botswana Butchery’s diverse menu is all about flavour and has a strong focus on fine cut meats and locally sourced foods. Celebrating its 12th year in Auckland, the restaurant has become a well-known and well-loved institution boasting from its grand waterfront location and a decadent fit out in an iconic setting. You will have: At least 2 years working in a kitchen environment Excellent organisational skills Must have flexibility around a roster – we are open every day from 11am until late Core responsibilities: To undertake day-to-day preparation and cooking of food set by the Head Chef and as per menu, under the direction of the kitchen team To follow all guidelines of recipes, training manuals and standards set by the Head Chef To accept tasks set by and take direction from the Head Chef with a view to the continuous improvement of Botswana Butchery brand and product Ensure the quality and freshness of all ingredients Compile order lists for Head Chef, and help with stocktakes Able to effectively communicate any issues that may arise with Head Chef and Manager Maintain a clean and organised work area, including proper storage and rotation of ingredients Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and timely service Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines during food preparation and handling Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continuously improve skills and knowledge In return we can offer you: An above market wage that reflects your skill and experience Any necessary training to help you get up to speed with our venue Realistic pathways to grow within our company We pride ourselves on providing premium fun dining experiences to the guests that visit each day.
