Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey. House of Travel is New Zealand’s most awarded travel group. We’ve taken home the Best Places to Work (Large Category) Award and been named the #1 brand for customer experience in Kantar’s Customer Leadership Index. We’re looking for an experienced Travel Consultant to join our well-established House of Travel Ellerslie store. This is an opportunity to step into a thriving, community-focused business with an established book of loyal repeat clients and a strong local reputation. Led by our Owner Operator, our experienced team brings global knowledge, professionalism and genuine commitment to our clients. From cruising and touring to complex, bespoke long‑haul itineraries, as well as business and group travel, there is plenty of variety and opportunity to use your expertise. It’s a role with plenty of creativity and freedom, but it also comes with the commercial, financial and administrative responsibilities you’d expect from a professional sales role. What’s on offer? Clients: Step into an established book of loyal customers who are ready for an experienced consultant to look after their travel. Earning: A competitive base salary plus a clear, achievable incentive scheme with uncapped earning potential. Location: Work from our office in vibrant Ellerslie Village, conveniently connected by train with cafés and parks on your doorstep. Culture: Work alongside a friendly, experienced team of travel professionals, backed by the knowledge and support of the wider House of Travel network. Development: Continue building your expertise in an industry where there is always something new to learn. Wellbeing: Access to our Connect@HOT wellness platform, with resources designed to support wellbeing and connection across our teams. What you’ll be doing Your day-to-day focus will be talking to clients and selling travel. You’ll manage the full client and sales journey, from understanding what your clients want and researching the right options through to designing itineraries, presenting recommendations, converting enquiries into bookings and managing all the details that follow. You’ll build strong, long‑term relationships with your clients, identify opportunities to grow your business and deliver the level of personal service that keeps people coming back to House of Travel. There is also plenty of research. Travel changes constantly, destinations, products, airline rules, entry requirements and technology all evolve, so even experienced consultants never stop learning. What are we looking for? We’re looking for an experienced travel professional who understands both the excitement and the responsibility that comes with managing a client’s travel. You’ll bring: Proven travel consulting and sales experience, ideally within the New Zealand travel industry Confidence building relationships and converting enquiries into sales A strong customer focus and the ability to understand what matters to each individual client Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage the financial and administrative requirements of your bookings Strong research and problem‑solving skills, particularly when dealing with complex itineraries or unexpected changes First‑hand travel experience and the ability to turn that knowledge into valuable recommendations A genuine commitment to continually developing your destination, product and industry knowledge A collaborative attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to contribute to the wider team Most importantly, you’ll enjoy working with people. You’ll understand that great travel consulting isn’t just about knowing destinations, it’s about earning trust, making sales, taking ownership and being there for your clients. With the best people, systems and career opportunities in the business, we put people first and truly believe our success comes down to our amazing team. Applicants must have the permanent right to work in New Zealand. #J-18808-Ljbffr
