Medical and Neurotherapy Services Ltd – Dunedin, South Island Nutritionist/Health Coach with Nutrition Qualifications Help people turn complex health information into meaningful, sustainable change NeuroBalance is looking for a thoughtful, compassionate Health Coach with formal qualifications in both health coaching and nutrition to join our multidisciplinary clinic in Dunedin. This is an opportunity to become part of an innovative and highly educational clinic working across brain health, cognitive health, concussion, autonomic regulation and personalised medicine. Many of our patients receive detailed recommendations but need ongoing support to translate them into everyday life. We are looking for someone who can help people understand what matters, identify realistic next steps and build changes that are both meaningful and sustainable. About the role You will work alongside our medical and neuroscience team, supporting patients with areas such as: Nutrition and healthy eating patterns Lifestyle and behaviour change Sleep, movement and stress management Motivation, accountability and practical problem-solving Implementing clinician-developed health plans Supporting patients undertaking the Bredesen/ReCODE approach to cognitive health Helping patients understand and organise complex recommendations Monitoring progress and communicating relevant information back to the clinical team The role will initially provide four guaranteed hours per week, with the opportunity to increase progressively to approximately 15 hours as the service develops. The hourly rate is $40 per hour. Who we are looking for You will need: A recognised qualification in health coaching Formal education or qualifications in nutrition Excellent communication and relationship-building skills The ability to explain health information clearly without overwhelming people A practical and encouraging approach to behaviour change Strong professional boundaries and respect for patient privacy Good organisational and documentation skills The ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a wider team A curious, thoughtful and evidence-informed approach We are planning to roll out the Bredesen/ReCODE approach and so, training in functional nutrition, such as a PreKure background is important. Knowledge to support different diets, including keto/carnivore or low-oxalate/low-histamine, etc., is important. Experience in functional medicine, cognitive health, chronic health conditions, motivational interviewing or supporting neurodivergent people would also be an advantage. What makes this opportunity different NeuroBalance is not a conventional clinic. We are developing new ways to integrate medicine, neuroscience, objective testing and personalised health information into practical programmes that people can use. You will join a team that values curiosity, thoughtful discussion and continuing education. You will have the opportunity to learn from complex and fascinating cases while helping patients make changes that may otherwise feel difficult or overwhelming. Our clinic provides the patients, professional rooms, reception support, booking systems and clinical infrastructure, allowing you to concentrate on doing meaningful work with people. We are looking for someone who wants more than an hourly position.
