We are a well-established liquor retail business proudly serving the Palmerston North community with a wide selection of beer, wine, spirits, and other beverages. We are looking for motivated and customer-focused individuals to join our team and contribute to delivering a high standard of service to our customers. Role: We are seeking two (2) Sales Assistants to support the day-to-day operations of our retail liquor store. This role involves assisting customers, processing sales transactions, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring the store remains clean, organised, and compliant with all relevant regulations. Vacancies: Two (2) permanent full-time positions Location: Black Bull Liquor, 789 Main Street, Roslyn, Palmerston North 4414 Hours and Pay: Minimum 30 hours | $25 - $30 per hour (depending on experience) Minimum qualification/experience: NZ Register Level 1 qualification, or compulsory secondary education Key Responsibilities: Assist customers in selecting products and provide accurate information regarding product ranges and promotions. Deliver friendly, professional, and efficient customer service at all times. Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and handle cash, EFTPOS, and other payment methods. Verify customer identification and comply with all legal requirements relating to the sale and supply of alcohol. Refill shelves and displays to ensure products are attractively presented and readily available. Receive, unpack, label, and organise incoming stock deliveries. Assist with stocktakes and inventory control activities. Maintain store cleanliness, organisation, and presentation standards. Monitor stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies to management. Promote store specials and support the achievement of sales targets. Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient store operations. Follow workplace health and safety procedures and company policies. Any other lawful request. Other Skills/Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age due to the nature of alcohol retailing. -V ) Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Physically capable of lifting and moving stock when required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable, honest, and punctual with a positive attitude. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment. Good attention to detail and cash-handling abilities. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
