Together, we're building strong foundations for lifelong learning and wellbeing. Community Description Arohanui Kindergarten is the early childhood centre attached to the teen parent unit situated at Waiopehu College, Levin, which caters for young parents in the Horowhenua, Shannon, Foxton and Otaki areas. The whole service is called He Whare Manaaki Tangata, which was purpose-built and opened at the beginning of Term 1 2014. At Arohanui Kindergarten, we provide a warm, inclusive, and welcoming whānau-based learning environment where tamariki from birth to five years, including a significant number of children under two, learn alongside one another. The established teaching team brings strong knowledge of infant and toddler pedagogy and works closely with young parents, their whānau, the teachers of He Whare Manaaki Tangata, and the wider Waiopehu College community. Our focus on responsive relationships supports continuity of care and learning, and a collaborative approach to meeting the needs of tamariki and whānau. We are licensed for 31 children, with 15 being under 2, who attend for 6.5 hours each day. You will join our team of5 other teachers. This position is 40 hours per week. We are looking for an enthusiastic ECE kaiako who: is an experienced leader who demonstrates skill and enjoyment in leading a team in a whānau-based educational setting with Tamariki aged from 0 to 5 years of age. has experience and ability in developing authentic, warm relationships with a diverse range of whānau, care givers, including with young parents. will effectively work in partnership within a secondary school environment including engaging with kaiako, leaders and other professionals to promote a holistic educational setting leads collaborative professional relationships that demonstrate initiative and evaluative practice, and adaptively apply this learning in practice practices and is continuing to develop their use of te reo Māori and tikanga Māori and demonstrates a commitment to deepening our cultural journey in our Te Tiriti o Waitangi based practice Applications close on: Tuesday 8 September 2026 at 11:45pm. #J-18808-Ljbffr
