The Role This Senior Financial Accountant position plays a critical leadership role within the finance function. Leading a team of four, you will oversee key financial accounting activities and provide technical expertise across a broad range of balance sheet and treasury-related areas. The role offers significant variety and scope, with responsibility spanning: Treasury management and cash flow forecasting Investment and loan accounting Reserves and fund accounting Fixed assets and property accounting Capital project accounting and funding oversight Financial reporting and balance sheet integrity Inter-entity transactions and reconciliations Stakeholder support and business partnering across operational teams You will work closely with property and operational stakeholders, providing financial guidance on major capital projects, funding decisions and long-term asset management. This is a hands‑on leadership position that combines technical accounting expertise with team development, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement. Role Requirements To be successful in this role, you will bring: CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification Proven experience within a large and/or complex organisation Strong technical accounting capability across financial reporting and balance sheet management Experience in areas such as treasury, fixed assets, property accounting, capital projects or complex financial accounting environments would be beneficial Leadership experience, including mentoring, coaching and developing team members Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Strong analytical ability and sound commercial judgement Advanced Excel capability and experience using enterprise financial systems A collaborative, curious and pragmatic approach Candidates from large corporates, local government, infrastructure, property-heavy organisations, audit or major not-for-profit environments are encouraged to apply.
